When I was first starting out with amigurumi, hair was always the most daunting part. I’ve since learnt a few different methods for doing various hairstyles (although I’m still trying to figure out a good one for short spiky hair) and a recent custom order meant I needed some curly hair.
Here is the first in what I hope will be a series of tutorials: a Curly Amigurumi Hair Tutorial! I couldn’t think of a better character to demonstrate curly hair than Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, so I’ve made this doll in her likeness.
I can’t believe I’ve lived without this for so long!
Ok so my sister [shes 10] wants to cut her hair short [similar to Rhianna] and my mom says that it’s wrong and ugly for a girl to cut her hair short [ive been told that yet I cut it] And I want to show her that that’s just not how things work, That any girl can have short hair if they want and still look “girly” or “ladylike” as my mom would say
My sister had her hair cut shorter than her BF’s
And she looks FANTASTIC with short hair.
PRO TIP: watching “how it’s made” is SUCH a good way to combat an anxiety attack! There’s soothing music, a soothing narrator who’s intonation never changes (narrators never yell or change their speaking pace), it’s engaging enough to keep you occupied but doesn’t force you to think too hard!
